As flooring experts, we offer a full range of flooring services – from subfloor preparation and careful removal of existing flooring or carpet, to sourcing, installing and finishing an extensive variety of products. Working with exceptional service, guaranteed at every stage.
Floor fitting in private houses
Although the quality of our work is always of the highest professional standard, fitting floors in private homes is a bit more of a challenge. Our clients live, eat, sleep and relax there; we know that restoring, maintaining or fitting a brand-new floor can be impose on their privacy and could make life uncomfortable. So, we work cleanly, quickly and as quietly as we can, without compromising the quality of our service.
Inspection
We are happy to visit you and give you a free quotation. We measure up with great precision, to calculate the amount we need and minimize wastage, but also not underestimating the materials we need to avoid reordering and causing delays.
We will also look carefully at the subfloor. Unless the floor is laid on a firm and flat underlying layer, it will not be long before things start creaking and falling apart. Subfloor imperfections will be transferred to your new floor, and you will be wasting your money. We do not allow that! We have the skills and knowledge to fix an imperfect subfloor and will discuss these options with you.
Planning
The choices of wood, styling of design, colour, finish end up as a permutation of myriad options. So, you may need some help, that is, unless you are very clear at the outset what suits your home best. Even then it’s good to discuss it with us as we know the technology
Some floors need to be as neutral as possible to highlight the décor of the room; some can be ornate to be integrated into the décor.
Purchasing
We work closely with Britain’s top suppliers of wood flooring, so we know who to approach for exactly the right hardwood. All our suppliers are committed to ethically harvested woods from around the world.
Installing
We do not pretend to be the cheapest, but you will not find better value for money. We take great care to fit floors perfectly. Fitting is wall to wall without a visible gap between floor and wall. We work precisely around corners and under door frames, so the finished floor fits like a glove.
Finishing
Once the floor has been laid, we can offer a variety of finishes from lacquers to oils, colour stains to colour oils and even reactive stains to age the timber.
